GIVE THANKS

Here we are, going into Thanksgiving weekend. Just last Sunday our pastor challenged us to live with a thankful attitude. What a difference it makes. We have so much to be thankful for this year. we sold our buisness, we have wonderful children, who are all serving the Lord, and 11 beautiful grandkids, who bring us so much delight, and one on the way. We are so thankful for our little buddy, Noah, who has spent more time at home this year, than in hospital. He turned 3, and that is a hugh accomplishment for him. We thank God for our health, for our marriage, for extende family, for friends, for church, and for a free country. We thank him that we can worship him freely, without fear, and we are so very thankful we can place our trust in him, when the world around us seems to be falling apart. HE is our security, and HE is our hope for the future.
PRAISE THE LORD, OH MY SOUL
ALL MY INMOST BEING
PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME
PRAISE THE LORD,OH MY SOUL
AND FOR GET NOT ALL HIS BENEFITS.......

AN MP "WHAT???????

I used to think an MP was a member of Parliment, but that was before technology. Last week, Erin and I went shopping for an MP3 player. Yes, that's right. I thought it was high time I got "with it". My old cassette player just didn't cut it anymore. I am very blessed to have smart kids who look after me, so son-in-law, Steve, bless his heart, showed me how to "drag, and drop" songs into this little stick. He had a lot of songs on his computer, so I said, "Well, I like your music, so just put all your stuff on mine", which he did. I think about 40 songs. Well, this little stick has room for 450 songs. I would have to walk to Timbucktoo to listen to that many songs. Well, needless to say, I brought it home, and tried to do everything Steve had told me, but alas, it all looked like greek to me. Anyway, I am thrilled with these songs that I have, and I should be seeing Steve soon, so hopefully he has a few more he can give me. Oh the joys of learning new things, at my age. As we get older, we need to keep our minds "SHARP" So. I will keep pressing on, and maybe I will figure it out in the end. The Bible says that God knows how slow we can be at times, but He loves us anyway. I have learned the best way to stay"SHARP" is to stay close to the Savior, to read His Word, to grow, and never stop growing. I may never know how to load my MP3 player, but that's okay. Someday it won't really matter. Oh, by the way, I love the music, and it is awesome to worship and walk at the same time.

GOD'S GLORY

FALL!!! I think it is the most beautiful time of year. As we wind down, from the busyness of summer, spending time with family, grandkids, gardening and harvest, we also see nature begin to wind down. To live in the Prairies is truly a gift from our heavenly Father. He blesses us here in Manitoba with 4 distinct seasons, and I enjoy them all. Just as the earth needs to rest, we need to as well. When we rush about our daily lives, Jesus is calling us to rest. To STOP and bask in the beauty and the wonder of his marvelous love. To be still, so we can hear his voice, and to walk in truth and obedience. I have learned that eveen in the chaos of our lives, we can leave it all in his hands, let go and "REST".

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest, Take my yoke upon you, and LEARN from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you WILL FIND `REST`for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
Matthew 11:28-30

God is Faithful

We spent the last few days at our cabin at Lake Metigoshe, and I realized that my life change is more of an adjustment than I thought. Change, even though you are looking forward to it, can still affect us in ways we least expect. I still remember my daughter Erin,(my younest) leaving for Sweden after she graduated. My heart was torn in two. James Dobson describes it, as a literal tearing of the flesh. Although my experience this time was different, it brought about some depression. I have had a journey in my past with depression, and I find it a painful place to revisit. However, God always has much to teach me in that valley. He gives me a greater compassion for others in similar pain, and it is always a reminder of what he has brought me through.
"BECAUSE OF THE LORD'S GREAT LOVE, WE ARE NOT CONSUMED, FOR HIS COMPASSIONS NEVER FAIL. THEY ARE NEW EVERY MORNING. GREAT IS YOUR FAITHFULNESS" LAMENTATIONS 3:22 & 23

FEAR- False Evidence Appearing Real

I have been reminded again of how the enemy wants to cause us to FEAR. FEAR PARALYSES, BUT FAITH MOBILIZES. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of POWER and LOVE and a SOUND MIND. So many times we give into fear in our lives, but as we grow in HIM and trust Him for all things, HE will dispell the fear in our lives. God has a plan for our lives, even when we are old and gray.

Battle of the Bulge

We all get heavier as we get older because there;s a lot more information in our heads...and my head couldn't hold anymore so it has started filling up the rest of me. SO!! I am not fat, just really intelligent...Well that's my story and I am sticking to it....... Thank goodness that God loves us just the way we are. We put so much pressure on ourselves to look thin, when God looks at our heart, and tells us we are beautiful. What an awesome God He is!!

A good visit

I was blessed yesterday with a visit from my daughter in law, Laura, and my grandson Judah Daniel. What a cutie. I had planned to post some pics, but , alas,my camera bit the dust. Plus, I haven't figure out how to do that yet??? Must be the fact that I am 55, and I seem to be more and more confused. My sister, Bertha, from Steinbach arrived yesterday aftrenoon, and we are spending a few days together. It is wonderfful to spend time with family. So wonderful not to have to rush back and forth to Killarney. I have also been doing some flower planting, which I haven't done for a few years. So good to get my hands in the dirt again. Yes, GOD is so good. He tells us in His Word, that He delights in bringing us His good pleasure. He is awesome.
